- Common Milkweed -

Common milkweed (Asclepias Syriaca) is a native perennial plant that thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Known for its large, round clusters of pink flowers, it attracts a variety of pollinators, especially Monarch butterflies, which rely on milkweed as their host plant for laying eggs. The plant features broad, lance-shaped leaves and produces large, pod-like seed structures that release fluffy white seeds in the fall. Common Milkweed is not only a beautiful addition to native gardens but also an essential part of local ecosystems, supporting biodiversity and helping maintain healthy pollinator populations.
