Additionally, Liv's Native Nursery is committed to engaging and educating community members, empowering those passionate about protecting the Earth and leaving the world in a better state than they found it.

Hello! My name is Olivia Onago and I own and operate Liv's Native Nursery with the help of my family. I earned my degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Environmental Biology from the University of Toledo in 2023. It was during my first years at UT that I discovered my passion for native plants, ultimately deciding to dedicate my life to natives and their implementation. Growing up on my family's farm, I have always known the importance of the environment, and it is through my career that I hope I can protect our natural world and serve to re-establish both native plants and animals.

Native Plant Guild of Michigan
The Native Plant Guild is an alliance of local businesses and organizations that offer a variety of ecological landscaping services.
From planning, design, installation and maintenance to providing Michigan native seed and plants, these professionals work together to promote stewardship of our land and waters as they establish, restore, and preserve natural landscapes.
Wild Ones Oak Openings Region Chapter
Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.
Wildflower Association of Michigan
The Wildflower Association of Michigan is committed to being a resource for residents in Michigan (homeowners, corporations, land managers, educators, naturalists, and others) who wish to learn more about native plants and their associated habitats.
Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program
The Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program is an innovative, proactive program that helps farms of all sizes and all commodities voluntarily prevent or minimize agricultural pollution risks. Verification in the Greenhouse System recognizes farms that have taken great strides to ensure their farm reflects a commitment to good stewardship of the land and water.
Certified Master Rain Gardener
The Master Rain Gardener course is conducted through the Washtenaw County Water Resources Office and serves to teach how to design, build, and maintain residential rain gardens to increase water quality and decrease urban storm water runoff.
Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
NRCS works one-on-one with producers participating in EQIP to develop a conservation plan that outlines conservation practices and activities to help solve on-farm resource issues. Producers implement practices and activities in their conservation plan that can lead to cleaner water and air, healthier soil and better wildlife habitat, all while improving their agricultural operations.
Go Beyond Beauty Program
Go Beyond Beauty (GBB), a program created by the Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network (ISN - Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, and Manistee counties), was developed as a way to celebrate garden professionals, at no cost to them, (nurseries, growers, and landscapers) who committed to not selling or using high-priority ornamental invasive species.
National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)
NFIB is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-driven organization that advocates on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners—both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB was founded with the goal to give small and independent business a voice in governmental decision-making through advocacy.
